About Peer Exchange of African Communities for Empowerment (P.E.A.C.E)

P.E.A.C.E is a dynamic network and platform dedicated to the peer exchange of scientific, academic, and societal knowledge aimed at empowering African communities. Our mission is to dissect, analyze, and develop solutions to critical challenges facing the African continent through:

  • Research and empirical data collection

  • Publications and multimedia dissemination

  • Collaborative problem-solving with scholars, intellectuals, and communities

The P.E.A.C.E Institute Initiative

As part of our long-term vision, we are establishing the P.E.A.C.E Institute—an educational hub designed to:

  • Unite African intellectuals, scholars, and communities in participatory knowledge exchange

  • Empower African societies through peer-led education and capacity building

  • Pilot programs in Cameroon as the inaugural region

Our mission

    Networking for African Empowerment

    P.E.A.C.E actively builds and strengthens partnerships across the South West region of Cameroon, collaborating with:

    • Universities and research institutes

    • NGOs and cooperatives

    • Traditional/cultural institutions

    • Village and community groups

    Short-Term Goal:
    Create multi-level exchange networks addressing socio-political, economic, and ecological challenges through our established office, with an upcoming Victoria-Limbe Empowerment Centre.

    The P.E.A.C.E Institute Initiative

    Our flagship project establishes an educational hub to:

    • Unite African intellectuals, scholars, and communities

    • Facilitate peer-to-peer knowledge exchange

    • Empower African societies through participatory learning

    Current Focus:
    Prioritizing capacity building in Cameroon as the inaugural region for this intensive program.

Why PEACE Matters – A Supporter’s Reflection

I have been following the development of PEACE since it's foundation. I thought from the beginning to do more to support it personally but unfortunately it has not been easy to cope with my daily activities in The VOICE. I found the financial situation quite frustrating at a time when there was so many call for financial support on face book online for the PEACE magazine.

My  worries is that, financial support will always be needed for critical empowerment in such an independent structure. Therefore, it is important to know in which other ways PEACE can survive financially.

I am also proud of the PEACE project focus and their engagements in contributing to the struggles against colonial injustice in Africa. In my opinion PEACE is a pioneering network in advancing the consciousness of African heritage in Africa and in diaspora.

PEACE as an independent structure from western institutions is commendable and challenging politically to us all. We all have a prize to pay in the advancement of our political and cultural heritage.

Reversing the Equation: PEACE's Fight for the Marginalized Majority

PEACE does not only look into issues to resolve problems or find solutions for empowering communities but brings a critical touch in these endeavours. It strives to balance the equation of influence between the powerful minority and the marginalised majority. This means critically dissecting and analysing the social, political and economic issues concerning African communities and creating an arena for understanding the challenges of the 21 century and proposing critical methods of tackling such challenges. When I encountered this platform earlier this year as a fresh graduate from the University, I had my first meeting with its CEO. This meeting served as an eye opener to my career as a journalist in the making. For the 10 months that I have been with this network, I will say, I have had my good and difficult experiences. It has been more of a learning process to me. Why do I say learning process?Despite being an organization, which intends to analyze and recommend alternative but critical solutions to problems affecting the African societies, PEACE is also an educational institution due to the learning activities it is concerned with.
